Cow

Cow is an animal found “upon the land of promise” as people journeyed in the wilderness. They found “beasts in the forests of every kind, both the cow and the ox,” and “all manner of wild animals, which were for the use of men” (1 Nephi 18:25).

A man shall “nourish a young cow and two sheep” (2 Nephi 17:21). “And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox” (2 Nephi 21:7).

Cows are included with “all manner of cattle, of oxen, and cows, and of sheep, and of swine, and of goats”. Many other kinds of animals “were useful for the food of man” (Ether 9:18).
