Mattock is a tool used for digging hills. Hills “digged with the mattock” would be used “for the sending forth of oxen, and the treading of lesser cattle” (2 Nephi 17:25).
The hills digged with the mattock would not receive “the fear of briers and thorns” (2 Nephi 17:25).
