Swine are animals “useful for the food of man.” The people had swine with cattle, oxen, cows, sheep, goats, and other animals (Ether 9:18).
Jesus commanded the multitude not to “cast ye your pearls before swine.” He said swine might “trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you” (3 Nephi 14:6).
