Treaties are agreements. King Laman “entered into a treaty with king Zeniff” and yielded Zeniff “the city of Lehi-Nephi, and the city of Shilom; and the land round about” (Mosiah 7:21).
A speaker required others to “deliver up your weapons of war and depart with a covenant of peace.” Many threw down their weapons of war at Moroni’s feet, and many “entered into a covenant of peace” (Alma 44:14-15).
In the three hundred and fiftieth year, “we made a treaty with the Lamanites and the robbers of Gadianton.” Under that treaty, “the lands of our inheritance” were divided (Mormon 2:28).
