Equality is the condition required among the churches where there were to be “no persecutions among them” and “an equality among all men” (Mosiah 27:3). King Mosiah desired that inequality “should be no more in this land,” with every man enjoying “his rights and privileges alike” (Mosiah 29:32).
Alma saw inequality among people who lifted themselves up in pride and despised others, turning away from “the needy and the naked” and from those who were hungry, thirsty, sick, and afflicted (Alma 4:12). Among another people, “there was no inequality among them,” and the Lord poured out his Spirit “on all the face of the land” (Alma 16:16).
