Sheep

Sheep are animals. A man shall “nourish a young cow and two sheep” (2 Nephi 17:21). Sheep are named with cattle, oxen, cows, swine, and goats (Ether 9:18).

Alma asks, “what shepherd is there among you having many sheep doth not watch over them” against wolves entering the flock (Alma 5:59). Alma says, “the good shepherd doth call you,” and calls in the name of Christ (Alma 5:38).

Alma says that if people hearken to the good shepherd’s voice, “he will bring you into his fold, and ye are his sheep” (Alma 5:60). One speaker says, “ye are my sheep, and ye are numbered among those whom the Father hath given me” (3 Nephi 15:24).
